Chef Rebekah Lennerton (Becky) is a Red Seal Chef and proprietor of Black River Food Co., a renowned gastro-catering company in the Muskoka region. For the past 20 years, Chef Becky has called Lake Country home and has been a fixture in the promotion of the local and craft food movement in this area. Chef Becky subscribes to a farm to table philosophy when it comes to food, and her culinary creativity and inspirations are the hallmark of her company. The Inn has had the pleasure of her experience over the past 5 seasons, as she has handled all of our wedding and food requirements. We are pleased to announce that she has now become Executive Chef at the Mackenzie Inn.
Chef has spent years perfecting her craft and has worked in prestigious establishments such as North 44 in Toronto and ClubLink Golf Associates at the elite Lake Joseph Club on Lake Rosseau. As the Kitchen Manager at the private Members Club there, she was in charge of all weddings and conferences. She had the pleasure of cooking for celebrities such as Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Tom Hanks, Martin Short, a group of NHL players and families, and even Kate Hudson's 17th birthday party. Other notable establishments on her resume include Geneva Park Conference Centre, Northridge Inn & Resort Conference Centre, and Cranberry Resort in Collingwood, Ontario, where she was involved on the culinary side of all banquets and conferences.
Our Chef has been a fixture at local farmers’ markets, music festivals, and pop-up events with her gourmet wild game food truck. She has also focused her passion and skills on teaching others her craft. She was a culinary instructor at Liaison College Barrie and for Loblaws Inc. Ontario. During her stint at Liaison, she coached two culinary students at “Taste of Toronto,” where they won the prestigious event. She now runs a series of culinary classes and retreats here at the Inn.
Chef has also catered on-site movie productions, represented Savour Muskoka on stage at the Royal Winter Fair, is a member of the Canadian Chef Association, and has done a series of film shoots as the Chef for Bell's Wild TV network, Savour Muskoka on Shaw, and Sunshine City Chefs on Rogers. She has been published in several local magazines and newspapers, such as Muskoka Life, Parry Sound Life, Dockside Magazine, and TAPS craft beer magazine, and currently features a monthly recipe in The Villager magazine in Severn Township. Our Chef has a loyal following in her food enterprises and she never fails to stir up the culinary flavours.

Allison Burney has been an integral part of the Mackenzie Inn team from the early stages. As a local who grew up 10 minutes down the road, she got her start in the hospitality industry at a young age. She’s now been with us for over 15 years, and has been involved with and overseen hundreds of unique events and weddings at the Mackenzie Inn. Her in-depth knowledge of our functions from the early planning stages to the final well wishes make her a natural as our General Manager. Allison is extremely customer-focused, and with her natural, easygoing way, she endears herself to all our guests and team members. We are fortunate to have her innate knowledge from years of experience to greet our guests and ensure a wonderful experience with us. The Mackenzie Inn is like a second home to her now, and she’s delighted to share this beautiful venue with couples who want to make their dream wedding vision a reality here.
